You are here: RP Lab Mission

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Lab was approved by the scientific council of FPCE-UP and ESTS-IPP in December 2008. This laboratory is located in Porto, Portugal and is affiliated to the Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde - Instituto Politécnico do Porto and to the Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação - Universidade do Porto. This lab is dedicated to intervention, research, continuing education and to the promotion of functioning, social insertion and quality of life of people with psychiatric disabilities or experiencing social exclusion.

All activities are based on the most recent principles and guidelines of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and under the belief that all people with psychiatric disabilities should be able to access to a lifestyle filled opportunities, goals and ambitions in every way similar to any other citizen.

Our mission emerges from what is known as the major goal of people with psychiatric disabilities or experiencing social exclusion, and also their families and mental health providers: that is to contribute to  the promotion of their quality of life and effective social inclusion.
